Towing and pickup in Delaware
The car does not need to run to request an offer. Describe whether it starts, rolls or steers, and confirm the pickup arrangements when you accept.
Pickup in Delaware is arranged after you accept an offer; timing depends on local tow-operator availability.
Tell us where the car actually sits before the truck rolls. Describe tight access, low clearance, fences or other obstacles so the pickup team can assess access. Confirm who needs to be present and which documents to bring.
Ohio title and paperwork rules
Delaware sellers follow Ohio state law, and the agency of record is Ohio BMV. The clean route is a title in your name: sign it at pickup, never hand over a title with the buyer's section left blank, and photograph it before it changes hands.
Replacing a lost title: BMV 3774 (Salvage Inspection) / BMV 3753 (Duplicate Title). Ohio uses a bonded (surety) title when the chain of ownership is broken: you post a surety bond — typically 1.5× the vehicle's appraised value — and the Ohio BMV issues a title you can sign over.
Plates: Remove your plates — Ohio plates stay with the owner and are transferable.
Reporting the sale: Ohio has no seller notice form; keep the bill of sale and the notarized title assignment. That filing is what ends your liability for the vehicle — do it even though the car is already gone.
No title? What Delaware sellers can do
Ohio requires a bonded title through the Clerk of Courts when no title exists. Scrap yards must check the National Motor Vehicle Title Information System (NMVTIS) before accepting any untitled car.
Licensed OH salvage buyers and dismantlers can generally purchase a vehicle for recycling with less than a full title, provided you present ID and the right documentation — typically starting with the BMV 3774 (Salvage Inspection) / BMV 3753 (Duplicate Title).
Form numbers, fees, and year cutoffs change, so verify the current process with Ohio BMV before you commit. We deliberately don't state a OH legal requirement more precisely than we can stand behind.

Delaware seller checklist
Title in your name or your Ohio BMV replacement paperwork under way, photo ID, and a lien release if the car was ever financed.
Car emptied — glovebox, console, trunk, under the seats, spare-tire well — a photo of the VIN and odometer, and plates handled per Ohio rules.
A written offer with pickup and payment terms confirmed, a signed bill of sale you keep, your Ohio sale notice filed afterwards, and insurance cancelled only once the car has physically left.
